Our race weekend kicked of with long course racing, with our girls heading to Triathlon de Gérardmer. This is one of coaches favourite races, and I’ve been sending athletes there for 25 years now. Thus the squad has a big tradition of results to uphold when they race there!

Pepper was on fire in Gérardmer, bringing home a comfortable win in the Long Course race.

A trip to the florist? Nina, Michelle and Barb after Triathlon de Gérardmer.

Barb ‘Pepper’ Riveros kept the tradition alive with a great winning performance. In a weather challenged race that was very cold and wet, Michelle Derron did a good job in the last race of her season. She will now take a break as we evaluate the next steps for her. Nina Derron also raced at Gérardmer, giving it a Red Hot Go. She was in the mix all day, finishing in 4th place, and learning some valuable lessons.

70.3 Lanzarote Champion! Super performance by James.

Meanwhile as I coached my camp on one side of Lanzarote island, James Cunnama was working hard on the other side, in 70.3 Lanzarote. James produced a workman like performance to take the win. Very pleased as he continues to do the work to climb back up the ladder of success.

Well done Julie, first Top 10 in a World Cup at Karlovy Vary. Photo Credit: ITU Media

Julie Derron was excited to head to the Czech Republic to take part in her first ITU World Cup race of the season. Coach was very very happy with a great performance to land a top 10  position. Over the last winter, and early spring I set Julie a heavy program of specialised swim work, which saw her make a tremendous leap up into world class, and now a first pack ITU swimmer which is essential to her goals.

Congrats Mariana – getting the best out of herself at Triathlon Yverdon-Les-Bains.

Mariana Solorzano raced at Tri Yverdon-Les-Bains over the Olympic Distance, racing now more relaxed and happy and letting the results take care of themself.  Coach is very happy with her late season progress.

A busy weekend for Nicola.., Kids Cup one day, race win the next!

Last but not least, Nicola Sprig recently announced that she has a wild card entry to race the WTS World Championship final in Rotterdam on the 16th of September.  So this weekend saw Nicola fully engaged in her Kids Cup race in Ticino on the Saturday, then pull on the race suit the next day, to compete and do a great job. Another win at the Locarno Triathlon.

Congratulations to all athletes competing this weekend. online triathlon coaches are available to help improve your performance here...
